EMDR Therapy

What is EMDR? In short, It is a clinical method used by psychological health professionals as a type of therapy. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing. It is similar in many ways to exposure therapy but different in practice. It’s most notable for its high level of success and efficacy in treating patients suffering from trauma or traumatic disorders.

The function of EMDR is to help reprogram how the patient experiences or deals with negative memories and life experiences and re-contextualize thoughts and feelings into something more easily handled.

Also notable, the diverse range of demographics and conditions where EMDR is an effective treatment. Children, adolescents, adults, PTSD, and C-PTSD have all been shown through rigorous study and professional observation to be helped by EMDR.
